Portugal (Lisbon & Porto) Photography Workshop.
Join me next October for a week-long photography adventure through two of Portugal’s most captivating cities. Our journey begins in Lisbon, where we’ll spend three days exploring its sweeping viewpoints, historic neighbourhoods, dramatic coastlines, and vibrant street life. From sunrise landscapes to atmospheric cityscapes and seascapes, you’ll learn how to capture Portugal’s unique light while developing a strong creative workflow. This workshop is open to all levels — whether you’re picking up a camera for the first time or looking to refine advanced techniques.
After Lisbon, we’ll travel north to the charming riverside city of Porto for four full days of shooting (depending on flight schedules). Here, we’ll dive deeper into street photography, long exposures, and low-light work, using Porto’s iconic bridges, winding alleys and rugged shoreline as our canvas. With personalised guidance, small group sizes, and hands-on instruction at every step, this workshop will elevate your skills across landscape, cityscape, seascape, and street photography while giving you plenty of opportunities to build a stunning portfolio.

Photography days consist of:
Daily sunrise/morning session on location
Breakfast either on location or back at the Hotel
Day session on location
Individual time to explore
A daily dusk/sunset session on location
Evening social, dinner etc.
Although the last day is scheduled for image reviewing and editing etc the weather may dictate when that happens, again flexibility is key.

Photography Experience & Equipment
Portugal in October offers incredible photographic opportunities, from dramatic coastlines to vibrant city streets, but conditions can vary — especially when shooting early mornings, evenings, and along the seafront. You should be comfortable walking throughout the day and bring clothing and footwear suitable for both urban environments and coastal locations.
Whether you’re a complete beginner, an enthusiastic hobbyist, or a seasoned photographer, this workshop is designed to support all skill levels. In terms of gear, bring whatever equipment you feel confident carrying, but at minimum you’ll need a tripod and lenses suitable for landscape and cityscape photography. Filters and additional accessories are also welcome and can be very helpful, particularly for long exposure work. If you’re unsure about what to bring, feel free to contact me for personalised advice.
